Colts submit proposal to open roof at halftime

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A change could be coming to the Colts’ home stadium this fall.

The team wants the option to open the retractable roof at Lucas Oil Stadium at halftime. Right now, teams have to decide 90 minutes before kickoff whether to open or close the roof. The roof must then stay in the same position for the entire game.

The Colts submitted the proposal for the change to the competition committee. It will be voted on at next week’s owners meeting in Florida. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
