DANVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — The Hendricks County sheriff fired a jail deputy accused of using excessive force on a jail inmate over the weekend, Hendricks County Sheriff’s Department officials said Thursday.

Kris Allen, an eight-year veteran of the jail, was fired Tuesday after an internal review. According to the sheriff’s department, Allen used “unreasonable force” on an inmate, but the details of what happened weren’t released.

The sheriff’s department handed the case to the prosecutor’s office to review any possible charges.
