INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — An Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department sergeant was injured in a crash early Thursday on the city’s southwest side.
IMPD officials say around 2:45 a.m., the sergeant had just exited from westbound I-465 onto Kentucky Avenue. He was stopped at the traffic light when his IMPD car was struck from behind by a suspected drunken driver.
The sergeant’s injuries are not believed to be serious.
Police say there were two to three people in the second vehicle that were also injured. All the injured were taken to the hospital.
At the moment there is no word if anyone will be charged in connection with the crash.
