MORGAN COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — One person died Thursday morning in a fiery car crash between Monrovia and Mooresville, police dispatchers confirm.

Morgan County Sheriff’s Department officials said the first call they received was at 5:19 a.m. on a report of an unknown fire. The second call said it was a vehicle that was on fire in the 11600 block of North Bethesda Road.

The scene is about halfway between Monrovia and Mooresville.

Emergency crews at the scene say it appears the car was involved in a crash and that the car was significantly burned. Morgan County Sheriff’s dispatchers said the coroner was called to the scene for one victim that was found in the vehicle.

Traffic may be restricted in the area. Drivers should take State Road 39 to Antioch Road to get around the incident.
