Teen loses leg after train accident

ANDERSON, Ind. (WISH) – Police in Anderson say a male pedestrian lost his leg when he was hit by a train Saturday.

The incident occurred in the 400 block of 31st Street just before 12:30 p.m.

Police officials in Anderson tell 24-Hour News 8 19-year old Kalob Harrison and his four friends were checking out a train car that was turned over on its side in that area. It is not yet known why they were looking at the train car.

When they were headed back over the tracks, Harrison tripped and fell. His leg went under a train car that began to move, running over his leg.

Harrison was taken to an Anderson Hospital where his leg was amputated. At last check, he was listed in stable condition.

Officials say all the teens, including Harrison, will be cited for trespassing.
