Columbus PD sees increase in thefts from vehicles, vandalism

COLUMBUS, Ind. (The Republic) —Police in Columbus say they have recently seen an increase in thefts from vehicles and vandalism of vehicles.

According to police, most of the incidents have been reported in the area between Gladstone Avenue to Marr Road and south of 10th Street to Indiana Avenue, and in the downtown area, too.

Residents say their vehicles are broken into and items like purses, electronics and wallets are taken, police say. Others reported damage to their vehicles, such as busted windows and slashed tires, 24-Hour News 8’s news partner The Republic reports.
