Pacers using Google Glass, Beat the Heat signs tonight

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The big rivalry  between the Indiana Pacers and Miami Heat returns to Bankers Life Fieldhouse Wednesday night and fans will get to experience a new high-tech feature on the sidelines.

The announcer, some Pacemates, and team trainers will be wearing Google Glass and their video will be show on the giant scoreboard screen.

“We are dedicated to making the game experience the best possible for our Pacers fans,” said Rick Fuson, PS&E Chief Operating Officer, on the Pacers website. “The inclusion of Google Glass helps us continue that goal while testing the leader in wearable technology.”

Players, including George Hill, used the new technology during practice Wednesday. Their view during the 3-on-3 match up can be seen here.

Tip-off is set for 8 P.M.

Every fan will also get a sign to hold up courtesy of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The blue and gold signs, together, form the message “Beat the Heat.”
