INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – It was a messy morning across Central Indiana on Saturday, with snow in some areas and rain in others.
INDOT cameras captured the change in weather along Interstate 65. In Boone County, snow covered the ground along I-65. The sheriff’s office there said roads were slick, snow covered and hazardous and advised drivers travel with caution.
A few miles north, in Indianapolis, drivers were met with rain on their morning drive.
It’s going to be another 50/50 weekend, Forecast 8 Meteorologist Pamela Gardner says. Saturday there will be a wintry mix, but Sunday will be dry and warm.
The heavy rain will change over to a wintry mix then some snow Saturday morning. The snow accumulation will be mainly along and north of Interstate 70 in the morning and afternoon. The mix pushes northeast and will be out of the state by Saturday evening.
Northeastern Indiana could get 1 to 2 inches of snow with isolated spots with 3 inches. Indianapolis will see around 1 inch of snow then lesser amounts the farther south and west you go.
