Identities of two friends killed in White County crash released

WHITE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – Two people were killed in a crash in White County Saturday afternoon.

White County Sheriff Patrick Shafer said the driver of the car, Dakota Coffin, 18, of Reynolds and passenger, Kandi Haygood, 21, of Idaville were pronounced dead at the scene.

Shafer said the two were traveling southbound on 300 East and entered the intersection of State Road 18 and County Road 300 East around 4:30 p.m. That’s when a truck traveling eastbound on State Road 18 collided with the car.

The two vehicles came to rest in the middle of a field.

The truck had both a male and female passenger. They were taken to St. Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette with non-life threatening injuries. Both of their names have not been released.
