ANDERSON, Ind. (WISH) – An Anderson day care is working to help the family of one of its students after a serious car crash.

Aubrey Hines has attended Applecritter’s day care for four years. The day care is selling shirts and taking donations for Aubrey’s mother Dawn, who was seriously hurt in a crash involving an unlicensed driver.

24-Hour News 8′s news gathering partner the Herald Bulletin reports Dawn was put into a medically induced coma while she recovered from brain trauma. Her husband said her motor skills and verbal responses are improving and she is able to identify her neck and leg, which were two of the badly injured body parts from the accident.

So far, the day care has raised more than $7,000 for the family. If you would like to donate to the cause, please click here.

“The people there have been incredible,” Chris Hines said. “I can’t even put it into words. They’ve been nothing but supportive.”
