CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) – Dozens of dog owners and their pets enjoyed Sunday’s sun and warmer temperatures with a new place to play.

The Tom Wood Subaru Dog Park at Clay Terrace officially opened to the public. The event featured games, activities, and special dog snacks, too.

The 423-square foot park, located on the eastern edge of Clay Terrace Shopping Center, is equipped with play stations like a doggie crawl and “king of the hill.”

Tammy Clouse, who brought her two dogs to the park, said she’s grateful.

“We moved here from California a couple years ago and Arizona and they have dog parks everywhere. They’re readily accessible and we moved here and were shocked to find out there weren’t many dog parks. They’re hard to get to, there are usually fees involved. So it’s nice to have one in Carmel. It’s close, it’s clean, it has activities, so I love it,” said Clouse.

Tom Wood Subaru sponsors the park along with the nearby Companion Animal Medical Center.
