Council delays road funding discussion

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Mayor’s Office says this past winter left Indianapolis with “significant and unexpected street damage.”

Thursday night, the head of the Department of Public Works asked a city council committee to approve $8 million for repairs.

Officials said that money would go to the “worst of the worst” streets. Democrats challenged numbers presented by DPW and voted to delay the discussion.

Mayor Ballard’s spokesman Marc Lotter took to Twitter after the vote:
