TELL CITY, Ind. (WANE) – Police arrested a southern Indiana man after seeing pictures posted on Facebook that indicated he was making and distributing untaxed liquor.

According to Indiana State Excise Police, officers served a search warrant at the home of Jeremy D. Thompson, 39, of Tell City, Indiana on Thursday. Police found a distilling apparatus, along with containers containing liquor that Thompson said was untaxed liquor that he had made. Police also found a hydrometer and other devices used to produce the alcohol.

Excise officers said they started their investigation in February after they received a tip about a Facebook post that contained a distilling apparatus. Officers found additional photos and posts that showed Thompson was making liquor at his home.

Thompson was preliminary charged with possession of unlicensed equipment for the production of alcoholic beverages, sale without a permit, unauthorized dealings, and sale of untaxed alcoholic beverages.
