INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – It was a race to the finish at the Indiana State Museum Thursday.

The museum teamed up with the Boy Scouts of America for the annual Pinewood Derby. Organizers amped-up the fun with a two story, 125 foot track. Families showed-up Thursday for the fun runs along with Butler’s Blue III and the Indianapolis Indians’ Mascot Rowdie.

“This is the Pinewood Derby’s seventh year and it is an event that I personally look forward to as many of our other guests, because we do receive phone calls and inquiries when it gets to be that time of year as we host Pinewood Derby during the Spring,” Carrie Miller with the Indiana State Museum said.

More fun runs are planned for Friday and Saturday. The championship race is Saturday, where they will also give out prizes in seven “best in show” categories.
