Greenfield officer facing bribery, misconduct charges

GREENFIELD, Ind. (WISH) – Officials say Greenfield police officer is facing charges of bribery and official misconduct.

According to court documents, police received a complaint regarding Lieutenant Terry Austin committing some kind of criminal activity.

Police say Austin knew his ex-wife had an expired license and offered other officers a $200 steak dinner to pull her over.

Court documents say one of the officers includes Fortville Officer Matt Fox, who returned to patrols a year ago after being shot on the job.

Austin turned himself in at the Hancock County Jail Thursday.

The Greenfield Police Department is conducting an internal investigation into this case, in order to determine which if any policies or procedures have been violated.
