PERU, Ind. (WISH) — Police arrested a man in Peru after they said he tried to steal diapers from a CVS, knocked over a CVS employee and ran from police.

24-Hour News 8 news partner the Kokomo Tribune reports the man, 26-year-old David Ritchie, was arrested for trying to steal the diapers, baby wipes and a baby sippy cup, all worth about $24.

Ritchie reportedly knocked over a worker who tried to confront him. Police said officers saw Ritchie running from the store and told him to stop, but he refused.

He was arrested on preliminary charges of theft, battery and resisting law enforcement.
