Police: Two men found shot in car die

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Police are investigating after two men were found shot in a car late Friday night. Both men died.

According to a release from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called to the 9200 block of Beechtree Court on the report of shots fired at 11:22 p.m. This is near East 38th Street and North Post Road.

When officers arrived they found a red Chevrolet Lumina, parked on the street, with the passenger side door open. Police found two men inside the car, suffering from gunshot wounds. EMS personnel arrived and pronounced both men dead at the scene.

The victims were later identified as 21-year-old Terry Hunter of Indianapolis and 19-year-old Romello Carney.

Police say it is unknown what led to the shooting, and that officers were looking for potential witnesses.
