CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) – A sculpture of Marilyn Monroe that stands at 26-feet and weighs 34,000 pounds made its way to Carmel on Sunday.

The sculpture is traveling in pieces on an open flat bed truck. It will be parked in the PNC Bank parking lot, located at Main Street and Range Line Road, for a few hours on Sunday, sometime between 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.

13 other J. Seward Johnson life-like sculptures will be on the sidewalks of the Carmel Arts & Design District.

The sculpture will make brief stops in 10 other major cities along the way, including Philadelphia, Phoenix and Chicago, where it was first placed in 2011, a release said.

The statue has been in Palm Springs since 2012.

Forever Marilyn will now be the centerpiece of the 42-acre Grounds for Sculpture, a public sculpture garden and museum in Hamilton, New Jersey, founded by J. Seward Johnson in 1992.
