INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Indianapolis detectives are investigating the death of a child found in a retention pond.

This happened on the city’s south side, at an apartment complex off Meridian Street, just south of Southport Road.

This happened around 10:30 p.m. Monday night at Meridian South Apartments.

Police say the 3-year-old boy was pulled out of the retention pond by his parents. He was taken to Community South Hospital, where he later died.
