Court date set for officer accused in fatal crash

MADISON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – James D. Foutch, an Edgewood officer, has been formally charged for the accident that injured a pregnant Madison County woman and killed her husband.  Foutch now has court dates set in the case.

Foutch faces a total of six counts in the case, including reckless homicide and causing death while operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

Rebecca Sperry, who was 9-months pregnant at the time of the accident in Lapel, gave birth to a daughter after the crash.

According to court officials, Foutch will make his initial court appearance on June 6th in Madison County.
