COLUMBUS, Ind. (AP) — Search and recovery dogs indicated three areas on the Flat Rock and East Fork White rivers where a missing kayaker from Michigan might be found.

The Republic reports four dogs searched Saturday from boats with the Bartholomew County Water Rescue Team and two others searched the riverbanks with sheriff’s deputies. They were searching for 27-year-old Enrique Quinonez of Kalamazoo, Mich., who went under the surface of the Flatrock River at Columbus on April 6 shortly after he and a friend launched their boats.

Searchers marked each location where the dogs picked up a scent, but the search ended at mid-afternoon.
