SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson says he’s looking forward to Saturday’s spring game, saying it will be fun to play in front of a crowd again after being suspended from school last fall.
He admits to feeling jitters before the first spring practice last month, but says that was because he was eager to return to the field with teammates. Coach Brian Kelly says Golson hasn’t graded out that well, but neither has Malik Zaire. Kelly says that’s a good thing.
He says the low grades are because the quarterbacks have been going against a defense throwing a lot of wrinkles at them. Kelly believes that will help make the quarterbacks ready for whatever opposing defenses do next fall.
