FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Twenty years were added to Deadrian C. Boykins’s 65-year sentence for a Christmas Day attack on a jail guard.

Boykins was already serving time after being convicted in November of gunning down 17-year-old Elijah Freeman in the yard of a Fort Wayne home in April after the two had gotten into an apparent argument.

Court documents indicate that Boykins and jail guard Quinton Greer had a disagreement about the TV an hour before Boykins hit Greer in the head with a metal food tray, causing serious injuries.

Greer had been a confinement officer for three years. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
