Kokomo facility to provide shelter for homeless veterans

KOKOMO, Ind. (WISH) – A new Kokomo facility will provide permanent housing to homeless veterans.

Family Service Association of Howard County Inc. has announced that the grand opening of Jackson Street Commons will take place Thursday, May 22.

In addition to providing housing, the $3.6 million facility will offer supportive services to each each resident as well as veterans in the community. This is the third facility of its kind to provide a permanent, supportive housing solution for homeless veterans in Indiana.

The opening ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. with tours of the facility from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Jackson Street Commons is located at 322 E. Jackson St. in Kokomo.
