INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – An aircraft needed to make an emergency landing at the Indianapolis International Airport on Thursday after the flight’s airline received a threat, airport officials confirm.

Airport spokesperson Carlo Bertolini says the Southwest Airlines flight requested the emergency landing Thursday afternoon because of a threat received by the airline. The flight landed safely at around 3:10 p.m.

Bertolini says Airport Police and other authorities responded to the scene. Passengers were bussed to the terminal and the aircraft and luggage were cleared.

There were 138 people on board the flight, which was operating from Baltimore–Washington International Airport to Indianapolis International Airport. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
