INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – It was a dose of hometown help on Thursday from Paul George, the Pacers and Papa John. They all teamed up to raise money for Riley Children’s Foundation.

They drummed up the $50,000 through their Pacers Mania Special and Hope Happens Here Meal Deal.

Boomer from the Pacers and Papa John made the rounds at Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health on Thursday, handing out cars and toys to the kids before presenting the big check.

They did that with the help of two boys who had attended a Pacers-Heat game in Miami earlier in the season.

“To see the smiles on the parents’ faces and the energy. They’ve gone from not having much of a chance to having a real good chance. It just touches your heart,” John Schnatter of Papa John’s said.

The $50,000 will be matched by the Papa John’s Foundation to make the total gift $100,000. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
