INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A holiday tradition was paired with an Indianapolis tradition on Saturday when the Indianapolis Motor Speedway hosted an Easter egg hunt.
Kids of all ages lined the infield to snatch as many plastic eggs as possible. They managed to collect all 20,000 in just a matter of minutes.
It was the fourth year for the event that one professional driver, Pippa Mann, hopes will create young race fans.
“IMS making itself as accessible to the community for events like this, it’s just fantastic,” Mann said.
“This is an experience when you come out to IMS, and we want families to start their traditions. Easter is a family tradition every year and what better place to have an Easter egg hunt,” Jesika Gunter, Event Marketing Manager at the IMS said.
The kids also had a chance to meet the Easter bunny before the hunt.
