COLUMBUS, Ind. (WISH) – The kayaker who went missing in Bartholomew County has been found.

Indiana Department of Natural Resources officers confirmed the body of 27-year-old Enrique Quinonez was found in the Flatrock River around 2:30 p.m. Monday, 150 yards south of where he went in.

They say his body is now at a hospital with his family.

Indiana DNR officers along with the Bartholomew County Water Rescue team have been searching the area for the past 15 days, spanning up to a mile downstream.

Investigators said Quinonez  was kayaking with a friend along the river on April 6. His kayak capsized near the Mill Race Park and he disappeared into the water. The search was difficult early on because the river’s water level wouldn’t come down because of heavy rains.

Investigators said Quinonez is from Kalamazoo, Michigan.
