GREENWOOD, Ind. (WISH) — A restaurant that’s been a fixture in Greenwood for 25 years is undergoing major changes.
Restaurant patrons won’t be able to experience Jonathan Byrd’s Cafeteria the same way starting April 30, the restaurant announced through its Facebook page.
Owners of the cafeteria said they’re changing the restaurant’s concept to adjust to modern views of how restaurants operate.
“The way that people buy their food has changed. The world has changed. Foodservice has evolved, and we can’t fight it,” the owners said via Facebook. “We have to adapt and evolve with it if we want to survive and if we want Jonathan Byrd’s to be more than a pleasant memory and a place that people used to go to eat.”
Jonathan Byrd’s will continue catering for the Colts. Further details on the new concept of the restaurant remain unclear, but owners said to expect a mix of traditional favorites and experimental ideas.
The restaurant is located near the intersection of Main Street and Sheek Road, right off Interstate 65.
