INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A scholarship has been established in Pennsylvania to honor an Indianapolis man killed on the west side while on a morning walk.

The scholarship is through the North Allegheny Foundation and will be awarded to a high school senior mirroring some of Nathan Trapuzzano’s attributes. Namely, the scholarship is for students who have a passion for music, academia and have a a strong work ethic and commitment to their community.

Organizers of the scholarship hope to award it annually. Teachers will nominate students and Trapuzzano’s friends and family will select the winner.

Anyone wishing to contribute to the scholarship fund can send a check to the North Allegheny Foundation, 200 Hillvue Lane, Pittsburg, PA 15237. Checks should have Nathan Trapuzzano Memorial Scholarship in the memo line.

A teenager was arrested in connection to Trapuzzano’s murder.
