Two killed in crash caused by loose tire

ZIONSVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — Two people were killed in a crash near 96th Street and Zionsville Road Tuesday afternoon.

The crash happened around 1 p.m. Zionsville police say a Ford Explorer lost its right rear wheel due to lug nuts not being tightened, crossed the center line and struck another vehicle head-on.

Police identified the victims as 30-year-old Mika Baird and 31-year-old Lesley Martinez, both of Indianapolis. The driver of the Chevy was not hurt.
