1 dead in SUV vs. train crash in Hancock Co.

MCCORDSVILLE, Ind. (WISH) – Police say one person died after a train hit an SUV in McCordsville Tuesday night.

The crash happened near North 700 West and Pendleton Pike around 9:30 p.m. Police say the CSX train was traveling northeast when it hit the SUV at the crossing.

According to police, the driver, Evelyn Wasson, of Marion County, was thrown from the SUV.

Authorities say the crossing arms and lights were working at the time.
