INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Indy 500 enthusiasts can now see vintage race cars on display at the Indianapolis International Airport.

Airport officials say two classic cars are on display until October 2014.

The 1950 Russo–Nichels Special is on display on Concourse A near the exit to Civic Plaza. This vintage vehicle passed through several owners and was still competing in National Championship events as late as 1965.

The 1962 Mickey Thompson Harvey Aluminum Special is on display on Concourse B near the exit to Civic Plaza. This classic was constructed by former Lotus engineer John Crosthwaite, and weighed only 1,190 pounds. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
