Andre Agassi comes to Indy for charter school opening

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Tennis legend Andre Agassi traveled to the Circle City on Thursday to help celebrate the opening of the Tindley Renaissance Academy charter school.

The academy is in a converted church located on Sherman Drive near 42nd Street. By 2015 the school will have 500 students in grades Kindergarten through 5th.

Agassi is an advocate for charter schools. The school will have 29 classrooms, a gym and a playground. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
