INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The longtime executive director of Long Beach Airport in California is taking the reins of the Indianapolis Airport Authority.

Mario Rodriguez will assume his new role in June. Current Executive Director Robert Duncan will remain with the Indianapolis Airport Authority as deputy executive director during the transition.

Rodriguez also served at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport during the recovery from Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

The Indianapolis Airport Authority owns and operates Indianapolis International Airport and several other airports in the area, including the downtown heliport.
