Pacers coach prepares for ‘must-win’ game Saturday

Frank Vogel

ATLANTA (WISH) – Big or small? That’s the million dollar question facing Pacers coach Frank Vogel as he prepares his team for a must-win situation in game four of their playoff series with Atlanta at Philips Arena Saturday.

Does he change the lineup with a few starters struggling or stick with what got his team the top seed?

“We have to play with more heart, desperation and focus,” said Vogel before Friday’s practice.

Vogel called out his guys, including Hibbert, for worrying too much about the stat sheet. Roy, who’s shooting just 20 percent from the field in this series says he needs to stop thinking too much.

“I know I can do a lot better, and there comes a time when you’ve just got to say, ‘I’m going to figure it out and you’ve got do it,'” says Hibbert. “Just go out there and not worry about stat sheets and go out there and play as hard as I can. If I need to come after five or six minutes after I start so I can give it 100 percent, which I feel I do already. But it’s not working. So we may have to change things around.”

As for a lineup change, Vogel was non-committal.

“You’ll find out tomorrow,” added the coach.

Tip time at Philips Arena is 2 p.m. Saturday.
