INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Meridian Street near 56th Street was restricted Friday morning because of a water issue in the area.

Citizens Energy officials said they have a crew in the area working to replace a hydrant after a vehicle hit it.

Meridian Street had been shut down in both directions, but as of 6 a.m. one lane of southbound opened up and both lanes of northbound Meridian Street were open. Water crews will be in the area for much of the morning blocking one southbound lane.

Motorists should give themselves extra time or take an alternate route.
