1 dead in fiery crash in Plainfield

PLAINFIELD, Ind. (WISH) – Police in Hendricks County are investigating a fiery crash in Plainfield that resulted in the death of the driver. 

It happened around 3 a.m. Sunday at County Road 300 South and Center Street.

Hendricks County dispatchers confirm the driver veered off the road, hit a tree and a sign, then went back on the road where it flipped and caught fire. Officials say speed was a factor in the crash.

Police have not yet identified the victim.
