Accident in Daviess County claims life of child

DAVIESS COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – An accident in Daviess County claimed the life of a 4-year-old on Saturday morning.

The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office received a report around 10:20 a.m. that a child had been accidentally run over by a skid-steer loader near Raglesville.

The father of the child stated he was operating the skid-steer on his property when he stopped to place two of his children in the cab with him.

Officials state that is when a lever was pushed accidentally that caused the vehicle to move forward and run over the second child.

The child was transported to the Daviess County Community Hospital and then flown by air ambulance to Kosair Children’s Hospital in Kentucky.
