K-9 officer catches burglary suspect after police chase

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A suspect was arrested after a burglary that prompted a police chase on the city’s southeast side.

It happened near Combs and County Line Road Sunday morning. IMPD said the male suspect broke into apartments in the area then fled the scene on foot when police arrived.

The suspect then ran into a flooded field across from Combs Road and then into a wooded area where a police K-9 officer apprehended him. The suspect was treated for bite wounds.

Neighborhood residents said they were scared during the chase and were told briefly not to exit their homes.
