INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A special ceremony Monday morning honored workers who were killed on the job in the past year.

It was part of the annual Workers’ Memorial Day service to honor those who lost their lives.

Working families from around Indiana gathered at the service to urge state leaders to adopt stronger laws protecting workers’ health and safety.

The service at the Statehouse was one of hundreds held around the world.

The Indiana State AFL-CIO represents more than 300,000 working Hoosiers.
