Man dies after shooting on city’s northeast side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Police say a man died after a shooting on the northeast side of Indianapolis Monday afternoon.

Officers were called to the area of East 38th Street and North Sherman Drive shortly after 4 p.m. Police say they received a number of reports of shots fired. They also got a call that a male was shot at the 3500 block of Blue Spruce Lane located inside the Villages at Mill Crossing apartment housing complex.

Police arrived and found a man, identified as 19-year-old Nathan Williams, with a gunshot wound to the leg. Williams was taken to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition. A short time later, he was pronounced dead.
