INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Detectives with IMPD said on Tuesday that they have made an arrest in a deadly shooting that happened on April 16.

Police say homicide detectives have arrested 23-year-old Deandre Kendrick for his role in the murder of Ronald Howard.

On April 16, officers were dispatched to the 2800 block of North Gladstone Avenue on the report of a person shot. When they arrived they found Howard inside of a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second victim was also found shot on the porch of an unrelated house, and taken to the hospital in serious condition.

Police say Kendrick has been preliminarily charged with murder. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will make a final charging decision. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
