Plainfield to host Little League Tourney

PLAINFIELD, Ind. (WISH) – Officials announced Wednesday that Plainfield has been selected as the host site for the 2014 Little League State Tournament.

This will be the first time the tournament will be held in Hendricks County.  The event is expected to draw from 3,500 to 5,000 spectators and 14 teams will compete.

The tournament will be held at Plainfield’s Al & Jan Barker Sports Complex on July 19-24.

The winner of the tournament moves onto the Great Lakes regional tournament. The winner of the Great Lakes regional tournament earns a birth to the Little League World Series held annually in Pennsylvania and is televised nationally.
