INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Lawmakers and religious leaders joined together at the Statehouse on Thursday for a National Day of Prayer.

“We come before you today on behalf of the great people of Indiana and all those who serve them,” Governor Mike Pence said.

Governor Pence and other leaders prayed not only for Indiana, but also for lawmakers, the staff who help them and our first responders.

National Day of Prayer was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the US Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover. In order to comment here, you acknowledge you have read and agreed to our Terms of Service.
