CLINTON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – A blown tire caused a pickup truck to roll over entrapping the driver in Clinton County.

According to an Indiana State Police press release, a red 1997 Ford Ranger was traveling southbound on I-65 near mile marker 153 when his left tire blew out around 6:45 p.m. Thursday.

The blowout caused the driver to lose control and veer into the grassy median where it rolled once and then landed on its top.

The driver, 50-year-old Andrew M. Boyd from Gulfport, LA, was pinned in the pickup and had to be extricated from the vehicle by the Perry Township Fire Department.

Boyd was transported to IU Methodist Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.

Police say he was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
