SHELBYVILLE, Ind. (WISH) –Fire investigators are searching the cause of a fire that did an estimated $2.5 million in damage to the Food Grade Corn Processing Facility at Fischer Seed Company in Shelby County.
Firefighters were called to the plant which is located at 3387 South and 375 East around 3 a.m. Saturday.
Investigators say flames could be seen from as far away as Waldron and Shelbyville when the firefighers got the call.
Extra crews were called in from Marietta, Flat Rock, St. Paul and Manilla to help fight the fire.
It took firefighters about two hours to get the fire under control.
Fortunately no one was injured in the fire.
