Man killed when tractor turns in front of train

KNOX COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – One person is dead after a crash in Knox County.

On Tuesday, just after 7:00 crews responded to a crash involving a train and a farm tractor near Old US 41 and Ivers Road.

The driver of the tractor, 67-year-old Basil (Ed) Patrick of Vincennes was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials say Patrick was driving the tractor southbound on an access road that was parallel to the railroad tracks near Ivers Road.

The train was moving southbound behind the tractor.
