Semi carrying pineapples hit by train

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A semi and a train collided Tuesday morning on the city’s east side.

Police say the semi, carrying pineapples, got stuck on a set of railroad tracks after failing to making it through a left turn.

Emergency crews were called to the scene just before 11 a.m. at the intersection of Rural Street and Massachusetts Avenue on the city’s east side.

Officials say no one was injured in the crash and the train did not derail. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
