Crash shuts down westbound I-74 in Boone Co.

BOONE COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — Westbound Interstate 74 was shut down in Boone County Wednesday morning after a serious crash.

Boone County Sheriff’s Office officials said traffic was being diverted north on State Road 75 to westbound State Road 32.

As of about 10 a.m., emergency officials urged drivers to avoid the area for two hours while they cleaned up the crash.

The crash happened around 9 a.m. Boone County dispatchers said a semi hauling shingles and windows drove off the road, hitting a tree. The driver was injured.
